T.H.U.G.G.I.N. For Christ Ministries is a San Antonio based nonprofit dedicated to helping young men ages 18 to 24 overcome instability and build purpose driven lives. Our program supports young men navigating housing instability, aging out of foster care, family dysfunction, and first time justice involvement by providing structure, mentorship, and practical pathways forward.
About the Organization
T.H.U.G.G.I.N. For Christ Ministries was created to address the challenges many young men face during the transition into adulthood. Without stable housing, mentorship, and guidance, these challenges can often lead to cycles of instability that impact education, employment, and long term opportunity.
Our program provides a structured environment where young men receive housing support, mentorship, life skills training, cognitive behavioral development, workforce preparation, and faith centered guidance.

About the Founder

Mashaun Hirschler’s life reflects the very challenges many of the young men served by T.H.U.G.G.I.N. For Christ face today. As a child, he experienced homelessness and instability, spending years navigating the Texas foster care system and eventually becoming involved in the justice system.
During his fourth time in prison, Mashaun experienced a life changing encounter with Christ that transformed the direction of his life. While incarcerated, he taught himself to read and write, earned an associate degree in applied science, and began building a vision for a different future. Today, that journey fuels his commitment to helping young men overcome instability, rebuild their lives, and discover purpose through mentorship, structure, and faith. Read More
Mashaun's transformation was not just about personal growth. He felt a calling to use his experiences to help others who were trapped in the cycle of crime and despair. He founded T.H.U.G.G.I.N. for Christ, a ministry dedicated to guiding at-risk youth towards a path of faith, love, and understanding. The acronym stands for "The Honest Understanding God Gives Is Now," a mantra that encapsulates Mashaun's belief in the power of faith to transform lives in the here and now.
Today, Mashaun is more than just a survivor. He's a beacon of hope, a mentor, a co-pastor, a certified mental health coach, a college graduate, an inspirational speaker, and a forthcoming author. He's a living testament to the power of change and the strength of the human spirit. Mashaun's vision is to create a program based on his experiences and the transformation process he underwent. He wants to teach others that they have control over their life outcomes, that change begins with personal choice, and that it's never too late to dream beyond their current circumstances. Mashaun's story is a beacon of hope. It's a reminder that no matter where you come from or what you've been through, you have the power to change your story.
